Stafford joined Shannon & Wilson in 1996. He provides environmental and geotechnical engineering services for projects throughout Alaska. Stafford has served in many roles at Shannon & Wilson, including Vice President, Anchorage Office Manager, and member of the Board of Directors. He is currently the Office Manager of the firm’s Palmer, Alaska satellite office. Stafford provides management and technical services for numerous multi-faceted environmental and geotechnical projects located throughout Alaska. His experience in diverse locations has provided him an in-depth understanding of Alaska’s varying geological and environmental conditions and regulatory environments.
Stafford's environmental project experience includes Phase I pre-acquisition site assessments; Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments; underground and aboveground storage tank removals and installations; preliminary risk evaluations; alternate cleanup level development; and remediation of impacted soil and groundwater. Geotechnical project experience ranges from field investigation to in-depth engineering analysis including shallow and deep foundations, and static and dynamic slope stability in support of roads, buildings, bridges, dams and railroads. He also specializes in hydrogeological services, such as recommendations for municipal supply wells, backup drinking water supply, groundwater supply evaluations, dewatering plans, dam safety inspections and other water/sewer projects.
