Stan Boyle

Stan Boyle, PhD, PE

Senior Vice President

Since joining Shannon & Wilson, Stan has evaluated and designed retaining structures, highway and railroad embankments, excavation shoring systems, dams, levees, impoundment dikes, trenched and tunneled pipeline installations, and structure and bridge foundations.

Stan has developed recommendations for improving landslide stability, building near rivers and waterways, and reconstructing riverbanks for projects throughout the western United States.  He routinely develops recommendations for the shoring and dewatering of excavations for trenches, pump stations, and tunnel access shafts. He has evaluated and developed recommendations for mitigating liquefaction susceptibility of water pipelines and embankment foundations, as well as for staged embankment construction over weak and compressible soils. He developed solutions for compaction grouting of loose soil below the largest dry dock in the western United States. He is an expert in design and construction of reinforced soil, embankments, and structures on soft compressible ground, as well as in the use of lightweight fill materials for embankments.
