With nearly 30 years of dynamic engineering experience, Catherine Ellis is highly adept at fostering collaboration among owners, designers, and construction teams to craft engineering solutions tailored to project and client specifications. In her role as geotechnical engineer-of-record, she excels in offering technical expertise, practical engineering, and effective communication skills to deliver projects that balance cost, constructability, and schedule.

Catherine possesses a wealth of expertise in developing effective mitigation measures for a diverse range of challenges, including liquefiable soils, soft marine soils, undocumented fill, high groundwater conditions, and sites with intricate bedrock transitions. Her extensive geotechnical engineering background encompasses studies and recommendations across various sectors, including commercial real estate, higher education, industrial, mining, utility, and government agency projects including transportation, military, and infrastructure.

Her broad technical experience includes analyzing subsurface conditions and developing recommendations for liquefaction and seismic hazards, deep and shallow foundations, ground improvement techniques, support of excavation, retaining walls, dewatering strategies, and slope stability measures.
