Garet Huddleston

Geology Staff

Since joining Shannon & Wilson in June 2023, Garet has worked on acquiring, characterizing, and interpreting surface and subsurface geologic samples and data, installation of vibrating wire piezometers, processing groundwater monitoring data, GIS data analysis and map production, geotechnical report preparation, and construction observation for roadside trench drain installations and a railroad culvert replacement.

Prior to joining Shannon and Wilson, Garet specialized in paleoseismology in graduate school and was a geologist for the U.S. Geological Survey. During this time he assisted with collecting and processing data for seismic reflection surveys; coordinating and planning paleoseismic trenches, as well as sample collection, trench wall mapping and interpretation; surficial geologic mapping from field observations, measurements, LiDAR, and aerial imagery; developing python scripts utilizing GIS to compile near surface site characteristics for strong motion stations across the U.S. utilized in seismic hazard modeling, research and infrastructure design; and developing technical reports and public geologic field guides.
