Katie joined Shannon & Wilson in the spring of 2024. Previously, she contributed to Alaska-based research investigating permafrost thaw and its effects on carbon dioxide and methane emissions. Originally from Minnesota, Katie holds a B.S. in environmental science with a minor in soil science from the University of Minnesota. She has extensive hands-on experience collecting environmental data in Alaska and a variety of ecosystems across the United States.
Katie excels in field operations, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, ecological sample collection and processing, and data management and analysis. Additionally, she has practical experience crafting environmental assessments, composing permits, and delineating wetlands.
