Oliver Hoopes joined Shannon & Wilson in 2007 following experience as an Engineering Intern in construction and geotechnical engineering and as a researcher at the University of Washington. His technical experience encompasses soil characterization, arctic/cold regions engineering, finite element thermal modeling, settlement analysis, soil improvement design, risk assessment and mitigation of landslide hazards, slope stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, experimental soil mechanics, and in situ testing. He has performed construction observation from the point of view of a general contractor, and has extensive experience in several standardized laboratory test methods, as well as specialized laboratory devices and methods, including cubic/true triaxial testing.
